Benjamin's Astrological Biography

Benjamin Bernstein's passion for astrology awoke when transiting Uranus, ruler of astrology, approached conjunction to his natal Mercury. Inspired by two astrology consultations he received from Kelly Lee Phipps, Benjamin became Kelly's mentee and graduated from his Professional Astrologer Certification Program in Asheville, North Carolina.

Benjamin has also successfully completed the professional courses in Ethics and Counseling Skills administered by ISAR (International Society for Astrological Research). 

Drawing on marketing skills honed in the mainstream business world and as a professional singer/songwriter, Benjamin built up a full-time astrology practice five months after hanging out his shingle. To date (April 2010), he has done approximately 2800 consultations.

In October 2005, Benjamin accepted Kelly's invitation to join him as co-host of the groundbreaking Cosmic Weather audio podcast, targeted at serious students wishing to deepen their astrological wisdom. Their weekly two-hour shows featured the next seven days’ transits, discussion of an astrology topic or interpretations of listeners’ charts, and interpretation of a famous person's natal chart and moving planets during key life events. Benjamin co-hosted 65 episodes through the end of 2006. (Past shows are archived for free listening.)

In March 2007, Benjamin started his own audio podcast, This Week in Astrology (www.ThisWeekInAstrology.com), where he is often joined by fellow astrologer Spiritsong. The show focuses on how to make the best use of the current planetary energies, and prominently features listeners' charts, questions and comments. This Week in Astrology has been the #1 astrology podcast on iTunes since late 2007.

In 2006, Benjamin was the organizing founder of the Asheville Friends of Astrology, which brought together Asheville's astrological community for the first time. The monthly meetings have been well-attended since the group's inception.

Benjamin has written astrology columns for publications including The Indie, Rapid River Arts Magazine and Aquarius. He is now an astrology columnist for Natural Awakenings (Western North Carolina edition). His monthly astrology column is regularly featured on AspireNow.com and Astrodispatch.com, as well as ItsAllGoodAstrology.com.

Benjamin began achieving greater national recognition in 2007. That spring, he spoke at two national astrology conferences: the annual NCGR (National Council for Geocosmic Research) conference in Baltimore [watch the lecture video here], and The Blast Astrology Conference in Sedona, Arizona. In 2008, he spoke at UAC (the United Astrology Conference). He has also lectured for local astrology groups in North Carolina.

Bob Mulligan, president of OPA (the nonprofit Organization for Professional Astrology), heard Benjamin speak in Sedona. He immediately invited him to join OPA’s board. Benjamin served as OPA's Director of Marketing from Spring 2007 thru Fall 2009, and taught at their 2009 astrology retreat in California.

While Benjamin focuses most of his attention on his astrology practice, It’s All Good Astrology (www.ItsAllGoodAstrology.com), he also has an energy healing practice and runs Bernstein Marketing (information and online portfolio at www.BernsteinMarketing.com). Through Bernstein Marketing, he helps holistic and metaphysical practitioners fine-tune their marketing strategies.
